    Azure Cloud Engineer (Infrastructure) - Investment Bank

    A global investment bank in the City of London is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the wider Cloud technology team that work across all aspects of cloud related strategy.

    This particular position will be responsible for key projects across cloud security, high performance computing, and AI machine learning with security in mind; this covers all aspects of Cloud infrastructure and has a particular focus on Azure. Additionally, this person will work with other members of the cloud team to increase the stability, security and cost effectiveness of the platforms, and assist on some of the BAU responsibilities, although this will primarily be a project-based position.

    You will:

    • Engineer and implement cloud solutions with security in mind, with a a focus on Azure.
    • Liaise with application teams and other infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
    • Assist in the definition of strategies and plans for cloud infrastructure, ensuring these are aligned to Technology infrastructure, the strategic goals of the business and wider IT functions and consistent with business strategy.
    • Support the Cloud Team Lead to ensure a highly available, reliable and performant cloud infrastructure is developed, maintained and supported.
    • Help identify root causes and support the Cloud Team Lead in implementing the necessary controls and processes to prevent a recurrence
    • Carry out your activities in a controlled way in accordance with standard procedures by adhering to related security and compliance procedures

    You will have:

    • Experience in a Cloud Engineering position working across cloud infrastructure, with a track record in delivery of successful Infrastructure projects.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure
    • Cloud Networking: vNETs, NSG's, UDR's, Peering, VPN's, Load Balancing & Direct Connections (e.g. ExpressRoute)
    • Hands-on knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS),
    • Scripting skills highly desirable, Python or Powershell skills (or other relevant languages)
    • The attitude to grow and develop, and get involved in high profile projects for a Global Organisation.

    This is a permanent position based in London, operating on a hybrid work setup.

      The Network Engineer will deliver connectivity services for the company and is responsible for ensuring the availability of LAN/WAN/DC network services.

      This role is primarily a project focused role providing Network delivery expertise for the infrastructure and services that underpin the network, application and member services.

      The Network Engineer will work closely with Network Architects and Project Managers to deploy project deliverables based on project timelines by proactively managing delivery criteria through change and service requests.

      Experience Required;

      • Solid experience working as a Network Projects Engineer, ideally with some Financial services experience
      • Network Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Check Point, Fortinet).
      • Load Balancers (A10, F5)
      • Understanding and exposure to the following desirable:

      Sterlings are currently partnered with an Invesment Bank, based in the City of London, who are currently seeking a Finance Business Analyst to join their Technology team.

      The Business Analyst will be working on Finance specific projects across the Technology function of the Bank, performing requirements gathering and compiling formal business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

      The Business Analyst will be expected to support both Project Managers and business partners through SME and problem skills, whilst building positive collaborative working relationships with Technology, Change Managers and Business stakeholders.

      There is a lot of scope for progression and development, and this person will be working on both UK specific projects as well as EMEA and Internally based ones.

      SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

      • Solid communication skills - both written and oral
      • Delivery track record and someone who can really take ownership of leading the Finance and Data initiatives
      • Confidence and gravitas required to interact with senior managers within the bank.
      • Business analysis experience working for a bank or consultancy.
      • A thorough understanding of the project life-cycle and experience of compiling proposal, scope, requirements and testing documents.
      • Experience of Regulatory Capital and Liquidity measurement such as LCR and SA-CC, or UK and EMEA Finance regulations, for example, IFRS9, BCBS239 - all beneficial
      • Understand the needs of a Finance organisation and be comfortable around financial reporting disclosures, month-end processes, year-end P&L accounting, financial adjustments.
      • Understanding of Subledger and General Ledger applications for financial accounting beneficial
      • Have working knowledge with financial investment products such as Vanilla IR & CR
