Job Description
NetApp Storage Engineer
A leading Financial Services company is seeking a NetApp Storage Engineer to join IT Operations & Engineering to deliver the day-to-day storage and backup services and play a major role in shaping the technology standards, approach and best practices.
This person will provide technical expertise to projects in order to ensure storage requirements are designed and delivered to a high standard, and act as the SME for all storage and backup systems.
You will provide technical expertise and advice to the Production Support teams in order to enhance their understanding of the storage technologies.
You will:
- Take ownership of technology and related infrastructure product roadmaps.
- Create, maintain, and communicate the technical infrastructure platform standards.
- Build the technology tower components and design patterns.
- Participate in projects, bringing technology roadmap expertise to bear particularly in the project planning and design phase, and through the build and implementation phases.
- Contribute or take ownership of high-level designs.
- Create low-level designs.
- Use performance, compatibility testing and dependency management between components.
- In partnership with Operations, manage vendor relationships with focus on new product developments.
- Contribute to the delivery of efficient solutions to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
You will have:
- In depth expertise in NetApp Cluster Data ONTAP v9.
- In depth expertise in Veritas NetBackup v10.
- In depth expertise in SAN Fabric configuration.
- Good troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to produce documentation to a high level.
- Able to take ownership of issues and see them through to completion.
- Able to communicate effectively with other teams and management of varying technical abilities.
This is a permanent position in London operating on a hybrid work setup.

Digital Solutions Architect - Financial Services
A Financial Services Company in Southampton is currently seeking a Solutions Architect to join their Technology team.
The company are currently going through a lot of positive change and digital transformation across various user platforms, with improvements across the digitalization of key applications. The company are well into their cloud journey, partnering with Azure, as well as using other state-of-the art tools to successfully make these changes.
This person will help create IT design solutions for business units and functions, building technology domain requirements aligned to the Enterprise Architecture framework, as well as key Strategy and long term roadmaps. This team are responsible for the digital design and build out of capabilities for key applications, and driving downstream development of these key changes.
The team also helps support the development, maintenance, communication and implementation of the solution designs, as well as conducting in-depth technical reviews, and bringing together key expertise to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
Key Requirements;
- Proven track record working in Technology Solution Design, from an applications perspective.
- Experience within a wide variety of IT functions, including system analysis, development and project management.
- Understanding of industry best practice and trends together with their application within a business context.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of technologies including several of the disciplines in strategic IT architecture covering either application, infrastructure, data or security architecture with evidenced practice of at least two domains.
- Any experience of working across Financial Service is beneficial, but not essential

Application Support Lead (Fixed Income) - Financial Services
Sterlings are currently partnered with an Investment Bank who are looking to hire a Senior Application Support Analyst Lead, to join their Front Office Technology Team.
This person will lead the support team who provide support and maintenance across various desks and multiple asset classes including credit and interest rate derivatives, credit default swaps, currency swaps and interest rate swaps and well as cash equities.
The team are also responsible for helping improve processes, fixes and enhancements, and Co-ordinate software releases in UAT and Production environments.
Other duties include updating support documentation and owning the development once released.
This person will operate as a Player/Coach, bringing to the table a mix of hands-on technical and business knowledge, people leadership, project and communication skills, developing deep knowledge of applications, architecture, up and downstream flows, as well as being a critical esculation point.
Experience required;
- Strong Application Support experience within a Financial Trading environment.
- Solid Supervisory / Management / team leadership experience in technology support of Capital Markets trading and related functions.
- Solid business knowledge of derivative products (interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, exchange traded futures and options, convertible bonds).
- Proven technical analysis and investigatory skills with ability to work within a high-pressured environment. Stack includes Ulinx/Linux and SQL Server
