Job Description
Security Engineer - Financial Services
A Financial Services company based in the City of London is seeking a Security Engineer to sit with the Engineering team to manage, deploy, and configure security tooling, and will have worked with relevant security tooling before. Upcoming projects will assist the business and wider IT groups, with projects including the implementation of threat detection apps for posture management.
Generally this person will be involved in onboarding security events into SIEM as well as onboarding privileged access management. Looking for somebody from a Security Engineering or DevSecOps background that has strong experience in writing Python code for automation.
The technical environment for this will include products such as Cyberark, Excor, Carbon black, Mcafee, and Zscaler, and experience in these will be highly desirable.
You will:
- Implement and manage a set of security products that will support the business and technical requirements.
- Manage security change requests and tickets in line with the LME Change management process across all environments as appropriate.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
- Onboard security events into SIEM and privileged access management.
- Manage security tools and technology platforms
- Be able to liaise with stakeholders to manage lifecycle and operating costs.
- Incident handling for security products (e.g. troubleshooting, hardware parts replacement, software bug fixes, vendor support engagement).
- Ensure that the Security Engineering function are able to evidence relevant audit, regulatory and compliance requirements.
Your experience:
- Have a strong background in Security Engineering or DevSecOps.
- Experience in working for a Financial Services institution.
- Have scripting skills in Python for automation.
- Have worked in an Agile environment.
- Encryption and authentication technologies (e.g. Certificates, TLS, Kerberos)
- Build and deploy pipeline technologies, such as Atlassian stack and Ansible or equivalent.
- Experience in secrets management and privileged access management
- Restful API, network and configuration protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, JSON, YAML).
- Experience in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
This is a permanent position based in London, operating on a hybrid work setup.

Digital Solutions Architect - Financial Services
A Financial Services Company in Southampton is currently seeking a Solutions Architect to join their Technology team.
The company are currently going through a lot of positive change and digital transformation across various user platforms, with improvements across the digitalization of key applications. The company are well into their cloud journey, partnering with Azure, as well as using other state-of-the art tools to successfully make these changes.
This person will help create IT design solutions for business units and functions, building technology domain requirements aligned to the Enterprise Architecture framework, as well as key Strategy and long term roadmaps. This team are responsible for the digital design and build out of capabilities for key applications, and driving downstream development of these key changes.
The team also helps support the development, maintenance, communication and implementation of the solution designs, as well as conducting in-depth technical reviews, and bringing together key expertise to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
Key Requirements;
- Proven track record working in Technology Solution Design, from an applications perspective.
- Experience within a wide variety of IT functions, including system analysis, development and project management.
- Understanding of industry best practice and trends together with their application within a business context.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of technologies including several of the disciplines in strategic IT architecture covering either application, infrastructure, data or security architecture with evidenced practice of at least two domains.
- Any experience of working across Financial Service is beneficial, but not essential

Application Support Lead (Fixed Income) - Financial Services
Sterlings are currently partnered with an Investment Bank who are looking to hire a Senior Application Support Analyst Lead, to join their Front Office Technology Team.
This person will lead the support team who provide support and maintenance across various desks and multiple asset classes including credit and interest rate derivatives, credit default swaps, currency swaps and interest rate swaps and well as cash equities.
The team are also responsible for helping improve processes, fixes and enhancements, and Co-ordinate software releases in UAT and Production environments.
Other duties include updating support documentation and owning the development once released.
This person will operate as a Player/Coach, bringing to the table a mix of hands-on technical and business knowledge, people leadership, project and communication skills, developing deep knowledge of applications, architecture, up and downstream flows, as well as being a critical esculation point.
Experience required;
- Strong Application Support experience within a Financial Trading environment.
- Solid Supervisory / Management / team leadership experience in technology support of Capital Markets trading and related functions.
- Solid business knowledge of derivative products (interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, exchange traded futures and options, convertible bonds).
- Proven technical analysis and investigatory skills with ability to work within a high-pressured environment. Stack includes Ulinx/Linux and SQL Server
