    Job Description

    Windows Server Manager

    A Financial Services company in London are seeking a Windows Server Manager that has previous experience in managing Wintel environments in a leadership position to transform and automate the server estate.

    This person will have knowledge of legacy and cloud systems with experience of on-premises, virtualization, and cloud-based environments, while also focusing on managing and leading the Windows team.

    You will be:

    • Overseeing the maintenance of the on-premises Wintel infrastructure, which will cover Active Directory, Windows servers, and virtualization platforms
    • Ensure the availability and reliability of all Wintel services.
    • Plan and roll out system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
    • Create plans to migrate legacy systems to the cloud, and ensure their seamless integration.
    • Manage the team that provides 24/7 support.
    • Be a point of contact for the team to guide other members.
    • Coordinate lifecycle management through delivery of roadmaps and 3rd party support agreements
    • Be able to resolve technical production issues as needed.
    • Effectively use Risk assessment and risk management methodologies or processes
    • Allocate work and ownership to team members in projects as well as operations
    • Drive automation and efficiencies across infrastructure services
    • Supporting the implementation and management of cloud-based solutions, such as Azure and AWS.
    • Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-efficiency.
    • Manage backup and disaster recovery plans for critical systems.
    • Lead the team and ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.

    You will have:

    • Experience in both legacy and cloud environment, using technologies such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.
    • Exceptional experience in a Windows environment, while managing a team.
    • Experienced in technologies such as VMWare Virtual Centre, Citrix XenApp/Xen Desktop, and SCCM.
    • Been in a lead/management position previously, and have excellent management, prioritization, and delegation skills.
    • Good problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills, able to determine the approximate impact of issues quickly
    • Strong relationship management skills with ability to liaise confidently with senior internal stakeholders and outsourced providers.

    This is a permanent position based in London, operating on a hybrid work set up.

      Sterlings are currently partnering with a Bank, based in the City on London, who are currently seeking a Penetration Tester to join their team.

      The team help develop and execute penetration testing plans, including network, web application, and social engineering assessments. Other duties within the team include dentifying security risks and vulnerabilities through simulated attacks, and helping the organization understand the potential impact, as well as managing Red Team tools and the Security Testing & Validation Platform.

      The team also implement and maintain governance of any assessments finding remediation progress and create regular reporting for tech and executives.

      There is also a lot of collaborating with other technology teams (i.e. infra, app and etc) to develop and improve defensive strategies and security measures to prevent real-world attacks.

      Skills and Experience:

      • Able to obtain and maintain persistence within corporate systems, while avoiding detection from common security tools.
      • Knowledge of tactics related to malicious insider activity, organized crime/fraud groups, and threat actors, both state and non-state sponsored. Solid understanding of offensive and pentest technologies
      • Ability to provide remediations recommendation based on test and automated security testing result
      • Understanding of how an advance persistent threat and their tactics, procedure and technics
      • Understanding of Enterprise Backend to Frontend system architecture

      Sterlings are currently partnering with an Investment Bank, who are currently seeking a Business Intelligence Technical Lead to join their EMEA Technology Team.

      The Business Intelligence Technical Lead will still be hands-on to help develop and improve systems, as well as drive team deliverables, performance, and ability to provide the best possible service to business stakeholders.

      The team are responsible for data integration, reporting, support, maintenance as well as supporting the gathering of requirements for major change initiatives, solving to resolve BAU issues.

      From a project perspective the team liaising with project team members at all levels, manage & understanding scope, validate target architectures proposal, as well as approving and supervising the transition into production.

      The lead will ensure that services meet agreed standards, SLAs and KPIs and in addition the platform adheres to the Technology & Security policy. Other key leadership duties will include managing performance, develop talent of other members, and the ensure the platform adheres to Risk and Control (Governance).

      The team are ideally looking for someone with previous leadership experience within a Business Intelligence team, Financial Services experience would be preferable but not essential.
